What's happening? Updates from the Farm
  • 8-4-2008 Lots has happened since the last update. The corn maze is now 5' tall in most places and will OPEN ON AUGUST 9th. The  pumpkin plants have turned into a five acre sea of green with little yellow flowers. The vegetables are doing great we have a fine selection of choice slicing and pickling cucumbers, summer squash, and zucchini.  We should have some cherry tomatoes within a week or so.  And our melons are looking good; some are the size of softballs.

  • 8-3-2008 Annie Treworgy took home a lot of blue ribbons and trophies at the Bangor State Fair this weekend for her excellent Oberhasli goat herd. Some awards include "Best of Breed" and Best of Show".  Call us if you want information about how some of these prize winning animals can come to live with you.

  • 7-4-2008 Team Treworgy Family Orchards raced against 486 competitors in the 28th annual Walter Hunt Memorial Fourth of July 3000 Meters Road Race.  The team with times consisted of Matthew Pellerin (98th at 12min32sec), Jonathan Kenerson (163rd at 13min57sec), Robin Pellerin (164th at 13min58sec), Annie Treworgy (292nd at 16min22sec), Christine Kenerson (293rd at 16min23sec), and Faith Bailey (384th at 18min34sec).  Matt was in first place for about 30 seconds and then got passed by 97 people (he never passed a single person).  As you can see from the times Matt beat the rest of us by a long shot, Robin was nice to Jon and didn't pass him at the last second, but Annie was tricky and passed Chrissy at the last second.  It was a great race, the first road race for each of us and perhaps next year we will actually train for it.

  • 6-18-2008 Last week we were able to lay out and plant the corn maze in a record breaking two days.  We had lots of help from around the neighborhood.

  • 6-18-2008 The pumpkin plants are about three inches tall now.  They still have a ways to go.

  • 6-9-2008 Thanks to you our opening weekend was a great success.  We gave away over 500 small soft serve cones on Saturday!

  • 6-6-2008 This winter we added a member to the farming community. Lydia Charlotte Kenerson, daughter of Jon and Chrissy Kenerson, grand-daughter of Gary and Patty Treworgy, is almost ready to start helping out in the fields. (Picture at bottom of page)

  • 6-6-2008 This spring we expanded the "Liberty Field", 200 new apple trees located down by the pond.  They should produce fruit in about 5 years.

  • 6-6-2008 The apple bloom has come and gone and it looks like the deer actually left you some apples.  The baby buds were their favorite mid-winter's night snack.

  • 6-6-2008 All the pumpkin seeds are now in the ground and have started to germinate.  With help from kids all over the neighborhood we planted all five acres in record time, 7 hours.

  • 6-6-2008 The vegetable garden is planted.  That's right we plan to sell fresh vegetables grown right here on the farm this summer as they become available.

  • 6-6-2008 This week, we are working on laying out this year's the corn maze.  If you swing by and poke around someone might let you in on what the design is.

  • 6-6-2008 The blueberries that we planted last spring didn't fare so well, but the good news is that the raspberries did!  Hopefully we will have enough to sell this summer.

  • 6-6-2008 There are limited spaces left in our "Farm Summer Camp" Call for availability.

  • 6-6-2008 We have plenty of baby goats running around and we could probably let them come live at your house if you wanted them.  Call us about which ones we have for sale.
